I know the standard objection people make about Glory -- that its anti-racist content is somewhat less effective (even contradicted) by writer's desire to narrate the story of black soldiers in the American Civil War ifrom the perspective of their white commander. But it's a good movie. Matthew Broderick rounds out the 1980s with grandeur.

I'm just amazed that Ferris Bueller wasn't your first M.B. pick.
Are you kidding me? Ferris Bueller was my favorite movie for about 12 years of my life. But at this point, well, I mean, it's sort of played, don't you think. I'm pretty certain that not having seen the movie in more than 2 years, I could probably quote (with 95% accuracy) any scene of the movie.
